Unlike a traditional bridge, an implant doesn't lean on neighboring teeth. Unlike a denture, it doesn't slip, rub, or come out at night. It's the closest thing modern dentistry has to growing a new tooth.

Most adults with a missing tooth are candidates. A few things change the plan, not whether it's possible.

Does getting a dental implant hurt?
Placement is done under local anesthesia and most patients say it was easier than having the tooth pulled. Expect a few days of soreness managed with over-the-counter medication. Sedation is available if you'd rather not be aware of the procedure.
Can I get an implant the same day my tooth is removed?
Often, yes. Dr. Nauss routinely places implants directly into the extraction site the same day the tooth comes out, and many patients leave with a temporary crown on the implant that day too. It saves a separate surgery and months of waiting. Your 3D scan at the consultation tells us if your case is a fit.
What's the difference between All-on-4 and All-on-X?
All-on-4 is a full arch on exactly four implants. All-on-X uses however many your bone needs, often five or six, for more support and more flexibility if you've lost bone. Dr. Nauss recommends based on your scan, not a package name.
I was told I don't have enough bone. Can I still get implants?
Usually, yes. Bone grafting and sinus lifts rebuild what's missing, and angled-implant techniques can use bone you still have. Dr. Nauss has specific training in these cases and would like a second look at yours.
Do you place and restore implants in the same office?
Yes. Dr. Nauss handles the surgery and the final crown, bridge, or arch here at Apex. You won't be referred to another office partway through treatment.
